Copied directly from our original example, these inkwells are reproductions of a very common type of the period, manufactured by the S. Silliman Company of Chester Ct. throughout the 19th century.  Boxes of identical inkwells, and others from Silliman were found on the Steamboat Arabia.  Our reproductions are hand turned wood, and feature a black painted surface and a glass bottle insert to hold the ink.  As the original, the top has two holes for storing your writing utensils and it is finished off with a copy of the original label on the underside.  Suitable for a wide range of impressions spanning the last 3 quarters of the 19th century.  Add one of our top quality writing pens to your inkwell purchase and save!    Tor filling these we recommend a pipette, eye dropper or syringe.
