They are shipped empty, ready for you to add your own tooth powder. The side labels seal the boxes shut as they did originally, however if you'd like it sent with a cut in the side label so it is unsealed you may select that in the options.

These boxes are exact reproductions of our original example in every way. The wood boxes are constructed the same way as they were 160 years ago and are extremely labor intensive to make. They feature reproductions of the original labels and direction sheet, and are contained together in a wrapper, just like the originals. These boxes are shipped empty with one end of the wrapper left unsealed so that you can carefully slide them out one end, fill with your contents of choice, and replace in the wrapper. Bentwood fig boxes, part of our expanding line of mid 19th C. packaging. These boxes are made from basswood and measure approximately 4 1/4" across by 2 1/4" deep. This was a common item on store shelves during the period that seldom survives today due to their disposable nature. Copied from an original.
